Police Chief Helps Rescue at Train Accident Site

On June 22, 2024, a train accident occurred in Hualien, Taiwan involving the derailment of the TRA 229 Tze-Chiang Express train. Heping Police Precinct Chief Wang Zhu-guang happened to be nearby after transferring a suspect to the prosecutor's office and rushed to the scene to assist. Wang Zhu-guang and his team selflessly helped passengers with their luggage, navigated through the muddy terrain, and coordinated rescue efforts. This incident marks the second time Wang Zhu-guang has been first on the scene of a major train accident, with the previous being the 2021 Tzu-Chi Gorge train derailment. Despite the challenging conditions, he ensured the safety of over 500 passengers and expressed relief that there were no major casualties.
