In a residential area in Taipei's Wanhua district on the morning of June 13, 2024, police responded to reports of gunfire where the homeowner, armed with an airgun, refused to open the door. A tense standoff ensued, with continuous police negotiation leading to the man's girlfriend ultimately throwing the airguns out from the back door, ending the half-hour ordeal. The incident, caused by a dispute over a missing phone, surprisingly did not result in injuries but led to fines under social order laws for causing panic among residents by recklessly shooting into the street.
