Reported about 1 year ago
In July 4, 2024, the Wuri Sub-Bureau's special task force successively apprehended suspects including Yang, Huang, Chen, and others for crimes such as fraud, deprivation of liberty, and participation in organized crime. The case began when a mother reported that her son, Wu, had been held captive in Cambodia for nearly 3 months and was unable to return to Taiwan due to alleged debts. The police coordinated a rescue operation, and upon Wu's return, an investigation led to the arrest of Yang and his group of criminals who recruited individuals through Facebook with promises of high-paying jobs, only to force them into fraudulent activities in Cambodia through threats and violence. The case is now being prosecuted by the Taipei Local Procuratorate for fraud, coercion, and involvement in organized crime.
