The Criminal Investigation Bureau launched a crackdown on fake online auction fraud cases nationwide, solving 5 cases and arresting 3 suspects, with nearly 200 victims and losses exceeding one million. One suspect was arrested thrice in 4 months. The suspects, using fake accounts on social media platforms, deceived victims by selling concert tickets and gaming consoles at low prices, leading to over 195 victims and a loss of approximately 1.15 million. Authorities advise the public to be cautious when shopping online, choose reputable platforms with third-party payment, and avoid private transactions to prevent falling victim to scams.
