Police in Zhongshan District Detect Late-Night Scam Driver

During routine patrol duties, police officers from the Zhongshan Division of the Taipei City Government Police Bureau spotted a suspicious man withdrawing cash from an ATM late at night. The officers approached and discovered a scam driver in the act. The police confiscated over NT$130,000 in cash, 13 bank cards, 2 smartphones, and a card reader on the spot and brought the individual back for investigation. The case has been transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further handling. This incident is part of the division's ongoing efforts to combat fraud, having prevented 145 fraud cases totaling over NT$132 million since January 2013, and apprehended 248 people involved in fraud groups and scam driving cases.
