Commissioner Zhang Rongxing of the Police Administration expresses deep sorrow over police officers being involved in fraud cases, with an increasing number of fraud cases posing as a new national security issue. Not only are fraudulent groups rampant, but numerous citizens are also being scammed, with a total of up to NT$8.8 billion lost last year. Zhang emphasizes that the risk of low effort and high profit has led some police officers to be absorbed and utilized by fraud groups, causing public distrust in the police force and the loss of credibility. He assures that appropriate actions will be taken against officers involved in fraud, including dismissal if found guilty, stressing the importance of maintaining good conduct to win public trust.
