A 65-year-old woman in Tamsui District, New Taipei City fell victim to a fraud ring, losing over 30 million in cash and gold to false promises of stock investments. The fraud ring then attempted to deceive her into investing another 13 million, leading to the police setting up a sting operation at an agreed location between the parties. Under the guise of selling antiques, the police and the victim collaborated to turn the tables on the fraudsters. The police successfully arrested an 18-year-old driver during the encounter, along with a 28-year-old accomplice monitoring nearby. The suspects were found with forged seals, work certificates, cash receipts, cash, and smartphones, and the case has been transferred to the Taipei Shilin District Prosecutors Office for investigation and prosecution.
