At the Legislative Yuan, KMT lawmaker Liao Wei-xiang questioned Premier Su Zhen-chang about Taiwan Power Company's electricity price increase leading landlords to also raise rental electricity prices, despite previous promises by former Minister of the Interior Lin You-chang to regulate it and limitations being scheduled for May but delayed. Premier Su responded that the Consumer Protection Commission will discuss related matters by the end of June, aiming to fulfill commitments to the public and expedite the review process. The proposed amendments to rental contracts were notified for 20 days from April and planned for approval by the Executive Yuan by the end of May. However, challenges remain as landlords have increased prices, raising concerns among tenants.
