Reported 8 months ago

President Lai Ching-te's popularity has fallen below fifty percent after one month in office, with nearly two million people withdrawing their support, according to a recent poll by the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation. The survey shows that about 48% generally approve of President Lai's handling of national affairs, while 26% disapprove. The foundation's chairman, Yu Ying-long, expressed concern over the significant decrease in support for Lai's governance approach compared to the previous month. The poll was conducted from June 11 to 13 among 1,070 adults aged 20 and over across Taiwan, with a margin of error of approximately plus or minus 3 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
