A recent poll revealed that a majority of Washington Commanders fans, as well as D.C.-area sports fans, dislike or hate the Commanders name. Specifically, 58 percent of team fans don't like it, with many preferring a different name or even a return to the previous one that was abandoned for being considered a slur. Despite the current owner indicating that 'Commanders' will remain for now, there is ongoing support for a potential name change back to the previous 'Washington Football Team' moniker.
