Popular Dessert Shop Announces Closure and Withdrawal from Taiwan after 3 Years of Operation

Reported about 1 year ago

Hakodate Kashi Factory in Hokkaido, Japan, known for its rich and creamy cheesecakes beloved by dessert enthusiasts, unexpectedly announced its full exit from the Taiwanese market starting August 1st, with its official website ceasing service as well. To thank consumers for their support, they are holding a limited-time buy-one-get-one-free promotion until June 30th. Founded in 1995, the famous dessert shop has multiple locations in Hakodate, including the iconic Kinmotsu Red Brick Warehouse, attracting around 280,000 Taiwanese tourists annually. Despite establishing a presence in Taiwan in 2021, with stores in Taipei and other cities, the company has now decided to withdraw completely.
