On June 26, 2024, at 8:45 AM, the popular net idol 'Zhi Yuan' with 17,000 fans on Douyin, known for comedic videos and serving as the chairman of a temple in Zikuan District, Kaohsiung, was arrested by the police in connection with a drug case. The temple and a beverage shop where he had previously been associated with quickly issued statements to disassociate, while authorities are still investigating the source of the drugs.
