Popular painkiller, Panadol, is set to increase its prices by 8-10% starting in July, which will result in a price hike of around 10-15 yuan per box. This is in response to the rising electricity prices affecting drug costs. The Taiwan Pharmacists Association advises consumers to consider purchasing alternative drugs with the same ingredients that have not experienced price increases, as drugstores are already facing supply shortages due to the impending price hike, which was initially announced in May. Panadol contains acetaminophen, and alternatives with the same active ingredient are available at cheaper prices, offering similar effectiveness and cost savings.
