The Port of Virginia has successfully received the first of four new ship-to-ship cranes destined for the Virginia International Gateway, significantly increasing its capacity for ultra large container vessels. As part of a $1.4 billion upgrade program set to be completed by 2027, the port will feature a total of 33 electric cranes. Additionally, the port has upgraded its Hampton Roads Chassis Pool II by replacing outdated equipment with newer models, enhancing operational efficiency.
