Taroko National Park, Buluowan, and Jiuqudong Trail are expected to partially open by the end of this year, while Shakadang, Green Water Trail, and Cilu Ancient Trail will have to wait longer due to heavier damage from the 403 earthquake. The park management is aiming to open certain less damaged and relatively safer trails by the end of 2024 after expert evaluations and repair work. However, the restoration timelines for severely damaged areas like Swallow Grotto Trail, Shakadang Trail, Green Water Trail, and Cilu Ancient Trail are longer and subject to variables like weather and aftershocks.
