Post-Explosion of Atomic Bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Interpreter Remembers Oppenheimer Constantly Apologizing

Reported 10 months ago

On June 20, 2024, Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan were bombed with atomic bombs during World War II, causing great devastation and resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. The interpreter who accompanied 'Father of the Atomic Bomb' Julius Robert Oppenheimer during his meeting with bomb survivors in the U.S. and Japan revealed that Oppenheimer continuously cried and apologized, expressing deep remorse. The film 'Oppenheimer,' released last year and winning 7 Oscars, shed light on this historical event, which remains sensitive in Japan. Despite this, Oppenheimer never took action towards nuclear disarmament before his death in 1967.
