European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde stated that the increase in foreign-born workers has significantly contributed to Europe's economic recovery following the pandemic. During a speech at a Federal Reserve symposium, Lagarde noted that immigration helped reduce inflation without hindering growth, citing examples from Germany and Spain. She highlighted the potential role of immigration in addressing labor shortages due to aging populations, despite rising political resistance to it.
