Imports at the Port of Los Angeles, the busiest US seaport, may decline as early as May due to the escalation of tariffs by President Trump on Chinese goods. Port Executive Director Gene Seroka indicated that companies are delaying orders in response to the increased tariffs, which have risen to 145% on Chinese products. He forecasted that imports could drop by at least 10% in the latter half of the year, as uncertainties around global trade continue to grow.
