Preemptive Battle of Minimum Wage Review! Ministry of Labor Study: Increase has No Direct Impact on Prices

Reported 9 months ago

The Ministry of Labor is gearing up for next year's minimum wage review in the third quarter and has recently held a consultation meeting with 30 committee members to discuss the possibility of wage adjustments in relation to the current economic situation. Two research reports were presented which indicated that adjusting the basic wage can increase average regular salaries, not significantly affect unemployment rates, and have no direct correlation with price adjustments. The Ministry emphasized that the meeting was purely for sharing opinions and no specific wage adjustment percentages were discussed. Further discussions and conclusions on how to calculate the wage adjustment will be made in the upcoming months.
