A senior flight attendant surnamed Zhang from a domestic airlines in Taiwan who became pregnant in 2020 applied for a ground staff transfer but was asked to stay on unpaid leave due to no available positions. After a year, she requested to return to work but was kept on leave due to the pandemic, only being offered an administrative position upon returning. Unhappy with not receiving full pay, she sued the company for the missing salary and non-property losses. The court ruled in her favor, citing an agreement on her unpaid leave application form stating that she should be informed of any job vacancies, awarding Zhang over 450,000 yuan in compensation.
