On June 22, 2024, Premier Su Tseng-chang visited Taroko National Park and the eastern section of Central Cross-Island Highway to inspect the post-earthquake reconstruction progress, announcing monthly trips to Hualien to confirm recovery progress. The government has allocated 958 million for Hualien's post-earthquake reconstruction, including slope protection and new tunnel construction, with plans to expedite the restoration of Taroko National Park. Premier Su also expressed concern over the follow-up of the train accident and emphasized the importance of efficient completion of reconstruction projects to revive Hualien's vibrancy.
