The former Premier Lin Chien-yu proposed a list of 4 NCC commissioner nominees to the Legislative Yuan before stepping down, but the list has not been reviewed yet. Current Premier Su Tseng-chang recently stated that he did not discuss the list with Lin, leading to suspicion that he was unaware of it. Legislator Huang Shanshan of the People First Party questioned whether the DPP government endorsed the nominees and called for clarity, suggesting that if not, they should withdraw the nomination to avoid politicizing the process. This has raised concerns that the current government may be using the nomination process to remove commissioners not aligned with their interests. The Legislative Yuan has yet to act on the appointments, and if no approval is granted by July 31, the current commissioners' terms will be extended until new nominees are confirmed.
