Preplanned Act! Suspect in Zhongjie Case Practiced Attacks with McDonald's Chicken McNuggets, Threatens to Continue Killing if Released

Reported 9 months ago

The 20-year-old suspect, surnamed Hong, who committed the shocking Zhongjie stabbing case in May, injuring two individuals, had premeditated the act with careful planning. The Taichung District Prosecutors' Office found him to be mentally sound and has charged him with attempted murder and other offenses, requesting a severe sentence. Hong had purchased McDonald's Chicken McNuggets, wrapped them in tissue paper to simulate attacks, and even stated his intention to continue killing if released in the future. He expressed dissatisfaction with society due to family and educational reasons, hoping to gain attention through his violent actions, as he had planned to commit the crime during the presidential inauguration but changed his target date to the 10th anniversary of the Zheng Jie murder to attract more social attention. Despite his detailed planning, the prosecutor confirmed his mental stability during the investigation.
