President Lai Ching-te announced the intention to request a Constitutional interpretation on the parliamentary reform bill, urging opposition parties not to act recklessly before the outcome. The Taiwan Civic Party criticized Lai for freezing the bill with personal will, acting like a judge, violating the law and causing chaos. They called on the people to support parliamentary reform, establish checks and balances, uncover corruption, and reject a dictatorial government. Lai emphasized opposition to expanding parliamentary powers, supporting legal and constitutional parliamentary reform, and respecting the Constitutional Court's decision. The Civic Party accused Lai of using presidential resources to deceive and confuse the people, urging him to stop obstructing the duty of delivering the state of the nation address to the legislature.
