President Lai Ching-te has signed and announced the Parliament reform legislation but will apply for a constitutional interpretation in the interest of safeguarding constitutional order. Before the outcome of this interpretation, if the opposition party demands the President to address Parliament, Lai Ching-te stated he will decide after the ruling on Parliament's power reform. He emphasized respecting the seriousness of the constitution and not taking hasty actions. Lai Ching-te plans to report directly to the public on important issues and engage in dialogue with the media to better understand public opinion.
