President Tsai Ing-wen attended the celebration of National Maritime Day by boarding the 'Yunlin Ship', Taiwan's third '4,000-ton class' Coast Guard vessel, in Kaohsiung Harbor. This marks her first time presiding over the commissioning ceremony of Coast Guard ships since taking office as president, emphasizing the importance of maritime security. As the ship carries rocket launchers and high-pressure water cannons, President Tsai expressed Taiwan's commitment to safeguarding its blue territories, especially following recent incidents of Chinese vessels entering Taiwanese waters. This deployment aims to strengthen maritime border security and continue Taiwan's efforts in shipbuilding and patrolling the seas.
