The Presidential Office stated that President Lai Ching-te has consistently emphasized the importance of delivering a legal and constitutional State of the Nation Address at the Legislative Yuan. People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je and legislator Huang Kuo-chang should not exceed constitutional boundaries and spread falsehoods. Ko Wen-je's comparison of the president to Hitler is considered a severe insult to Taiwan's democracy and freedom. The Presidential Office emphasized that Ko Wen-je and Huang Kuo-chang intentionally confuse the State of the Nation Address with questioning, manipulating the public and undermining the democratic process. President Lai's request for constitutional interpretation is not unprecedented, and Ko Wen-je's remarks are seen as a significant insult to Taiwan's democratic values.
