On July 1, 2024, at 10:40 am, the front flower garden of the Presidential Office was intentionally crashed into by a vehicle. The 49-year-old male driver, surnamed Du, drove a white Mercedes covered in political slogans and accelerated towards the Presidential Office, but was stopped by a steel flower stand, causing no casualties. However, Du displayed poor mental condition and extreme non-cooperation with law enforcement, leading the prosecutor to reschedule the hearing for the next day. The motive behind the incident, whether political fervor, mental illness, or external influence, remains unclear pending further investigation by the authorities.
