Prevent Drowning for Safer Water Recreation

Reported about 1 year ago

As summer heats up, many people turn to rivers and streams for water recreation, but sudden heavy rains in upstream areas can lead to dangerous flash floods downstream, resulting in drowning incidents. To address this issue, the Taipei City Fire Department has designated certain water bodies as high-risk areas for drowning prevention, conducting safety awareness campaigns during summer holidays and providing real-time alerts in collaboration with the Central Weather Bureau to warn water enthusiasts to evacuate in case of flash floods. The public is advised to download the Taipei City Disaster Prevention App for weather updates in water recreation areas and to follow drowning prevention and rescue protocols to ensure water safety and prevent tragedies.
