Preventing Housing Speculation: Agricultural Housing Loans Require Signing of Declaration for Self-Occupancy

Reported 12 months ago

The government is fully committed to preventing housing speculation, as the Agricultural Finance Division of the Ministry of Agriculture recently announced that the 'Agricultural Housing Loan for Youth Residing' will follow the revised loan principles of the New Youth Housing Loan and enhance the loan management mechanism. Borrowers are now limited to one loan application and must sign a declaration agreeing to reside in the purchased property. This loan, in effect since October 2023, is managed by agricultural financial institutions and offers an interest rate subsidy, similar to the New Youth Housing Loan. The loan amount, loan-to-value ratio, and interest rate of this loan are all comparable to the New Youth Housing Loan, with the program aimed at promoting housing justice, preventing housing speculation, and assisting young people in purchasing homes.
