Preventing Scams at Graduation Ceremonies: Xinyi Police Raise Awareness on Campus

Reported 7 months ago

In response to upcoming graduation ceremonies at various schools, officers from the Xinyi Police District in Taipei have been visiting schools to maintain campus safety and educate parents and students on how to avoid falling victim to scams. With prevalent scam methods such as false investments and fake online shopping, the public is advised to be cautious and follow the 5 principles of 'do not answer, do not listen, do not watch, do not pass, do not believe' to avoid being tricked. Additionally, as this year focuses on traffic safety, children and the elderly are reminded to stay alert when crossing the road and to help ensure their safety by signaling to drivers before crossing. Parents are urged to monitor their children's activities during the summer vacation to prevent them from being unknowingly involved in fraudulent activities. In case of receiving suspicious messages, individuals are advised to call 110 or 165 for anti-fraud consultations or seek assistance from the nearest police station to avoid serious losses.
