Price drop for eggs for 5 consecutive weeks, conscientious stores: Starting today, no extra charge for adding eggs

Reported 7 months ago

The domestic egg prices have dropped for 5 consecutive weeks, with prices falling below 30 yuan at the production site and wholesale prices dropping from 40 yuan per catty to 37 yuan, almost returning to the prices before the egg shortage. However, many catering establishments still maintain the practice of 'adding eggs + 20 yuan', making consumers feel indifferent to the price drop. Nevertheless, a catering business in Hsinchu County has announced starting today that adding eggs will not incur an extra charge once the egg prices stabilize, earning praise from many consumers for being a conscientious store. 'Niu Qi Donburi Restaurant' in Hsinchu County's Hukou Township has decided to offer free eggs without additional charges for all rice bowl series items for dine-in, take-out, or delivery until August 31. The boss of the Niu Qi Restaurant Group, Wu Dejian, expressed that despite the recent increases in fuel and electricity costs and labor expenses, consumers are aware of the fluctuations in egg prices and costs, and since egg prices have dropped, the benefits should be passed on to consumers. He emphasized that the purpose of doing business is to provide attentive service, make customers happy, and satisfied, and 'earn the money that should be earned'.
