Tainan's private shrine, Tainan Yuzhi Wuxuantan, recently released a poster of a deity 'marriage ceremony', renaming the local Tianhou Temple's Mazu as 'Heavenly Guan Shengmu'. While Wuxuantan claimed the ceremony was an internal event following divine instructions, the public criticized the act. Tianhou Temple has demanded a public apology, stating that Wuxuantan's actions have severely damaged its reputation. If the apology is not issued, legal action will be taken. The temple emphasizes the importance of respecting religious beliefs and condemns misleading actions that exploit these beliefs.
