Private Shrine Confirms 'Marriage' of Ma-Zu and Guan-Gong Due to Misjudgment in Height of Base Stand at Lu-Er-Men Tian Hou Temple

Reported about 1 year ago

A private shrine, Wu Xuan Altar, caused controversy by depicting 'Guan-Gong marrying Ma-Zu,' leading to legal action by Lu-Er-Men Tian Hou Temple. Despite previous statements denying Wu Xuan Altar's 'Heavenly Empress Ma-Zu' as a split deity from the temple, it's now confirmed that the Ma-Zu statue at Wu Xuan Altar is indeed a split deity from the temple, with misjudgment attributed to a high base stand. The altar adorned Ma-Zu with 'Heavenly Empress Guan-Gong's' sash, causing significant backlash. The temple's management committee expressed outrage, demanding a public apology and warning of possible legal action if not received seriously.
