Professional skier Jean Daniel Pession and his girlfriend Elisa Arlian tragically passed away after falling about 2,300 feet while hiking Mount Zerbion in Aosta Valley, Italy. Their bodies were found buried in snow by search and rescue teams after being reported missing. The Italian Winter Sports Federation expressed condolences for the loss of the 28-year-old skier, who had notable achievements in his skiing career, and his 27-year-old girlfriend. The couple, described as being almost at the summit in their final moments, were found still tied together in an embrace. The skiing community mourns the loss of these two young lives, broken by a mountain they loved.
