During the Legislative Yuan meeting hosted by Han Kuo-yu, KMT legislators Chen Xuesheng and Chen Yuzhen proposed an amendment to the 'Offshore Islands Development Act,' including a draft article that would allow Chinese companies to participate in major construction investment projects organized by the government on outlying islands, sparking controversy. The DPP caucus suggested sending the draft back to the Procedure Committee, which was not objected by the KMT caucus, leading Han Kuo-yu to confirm once again whether the KMT caucus and other parties had any objections, and announced 'no objections passed.' The proposed amendment aims to involve mainland Chinese companies in procurement to encourage off-island industrial development and promote public construction on the islands, with the Legislative Yuan sending the case back to the Procedure Committee today.
