Proposal to Formalize Prosecutors' Assistants Faces Resistance from Personnel Office

Reported 8 months ago

At a fraud seminar held by the Judicial Yuan Prosecutor's Office on June 24, 2024, key legislators from the ruling and opposition parties proposed amending the Court Organizational Act to formalize the role of prosecutors' assistants to address the increasing fraud cases that are overwhelming the prosecution offices. However, the Personnel Office of the Executive Yuan suggested evaluating the proposal after a year, leading the 'Justice and Quality Improvement Organization for Prosecutors in Taiwan's Taipei District Prosecutors Office' to criticize this bureaucratic attitude, stating that the rise in fraud cases has strained the prosecution offices and urging the Personnel Office not to just 'talk big'.
