Former Taoyuan Mayor and Chairman of the Taiwan Strait Exchange Foundation Cheng Wen-tsan, who was held incommunicado due to corruption allegations, was granted bail at 5 million yuan by the court, with the prosecution filing an immediate appeal. Today, the Taoyuan District Court forwarded the appeal documents to the High Court, which promptly reviewed the case, revoked the original bail decision, and sent it back to the district court for further adjudication. The High Court criticized the original bail ruling for multiple irregularities and deemed it appropriate to return the case to the lower court for reconsideration.
