Prostate cancer, known as a silent killer among men, has a high mortality rate. In Taiwan, over 4,000 new cases are diagnosed annually, with a significant portion already in advanced stages upon diagnosis due to the lack of early symptoms. It is recommended that individuals with a family history, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smoking habits, or exposure to environmental pollutants undergo annual prostate screenings. Recognizing risk factors, early detection, and regular monitoring are highlighted as crucial for diagnosing prostate cancer, which often remains asymptomatic in the early stages, leading to missed treatment opportunities.
