Protests Upgraded with Free Meals, Accommodation, and Air Conditioning! Chen Yi Criticizes 'Bluebird': Protests Nowadays Are Classy

Reported 10 months ago

The parliamentary reform bill has gone through the third reading in the Legislative Yuan to the reconsideration vote on June 21 as part of the 'Bluebird Action,' urging the public to participate. However, netizen Chen Yi noted the provision of meals, large water coolers for cooling, and even financial support for hotel accommodation, expressing disbelief at the current upscale nature of protests. Chen Yi highlighted the contrast with the earlier, more challenging street protests without such amenities. Chen Yi also criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for attacking Lin Cho-shui's support for parliamentary reform, questioning the party's current stance compared to its earlier democratic progress. The 'Bluebird Action' includes renting multiple large water coolers for public use. Chen Yi suggested that participating in the 'Bluebird' protests is not bad for those who are unemployed and looking for something to do, with free food, drink, and the opportunity to defend democracy being attractive options.
