The issue of priority seating, particularly the courtesy seats, in Metro Taipei has sparked controversy recently. Psychiatrist Shen Zhengnan emphasized the importance of priority order, stating that even if you are tired and need to sit down, if an elderly person needs the seat, you must give it up because their need surpasses yours. He criticized the confusion in the interpretation of priority seating by Taipei Metro and stressed the significance of following the priority sequence, emphasizing that elderly, weak, women, and children should come first. Shen also pointed out the need to clearly define priority standards to avoid disputes and ensure proper seat allocation.
