The Taiwan Citizen Front has called for people to gather again at Jinnan Road on July 3 to hold an event against the proposed amendments to the Election and Recall Law being reviewed by the Interior Committee of the Legislative Yuan on Thursday (7/4). The amendments, proposed by a Kuomintang legislator, aim to raise the recall threshold, which has sparked controversy. The Taiwan Citizen Front emphasized the importance of monitoring the legislators and preventing any unwarranted actions, stating that the protest will continue until their demands are heard. The amendments would significantly increase the difficulty of recalling officials, going against the concept of direct civic rights and making it harder for citizens to hold officials accountable.
