After much speculation, the Kremlin officially announced that Russian President Putin will visit North Korea today for a 'friendly country visit,' marking his second visit to Pyongyang in 24 years. Following his visit to North Korea, Putin will travel to Vietnam to promote a 'comprehensive strategic partnership' with Hanoi. Experts believe that a signing of the 'Pyongyang Declaration' during the upcoming meeting is likely, aimed at strengthening military, security, and economic cooperation between the two countries. However, the possibility of including a clause for direct military intervention is low. Concerns remain among Western countries regarding Russia-North Korea relations, especially amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
