Quanta is reported to have closed its 5.5th generation plant in Nanke by the end of last year and now is in the process of selling the facility to memory giant Micron for approximately NT$18 billion. The equipment is being relocated to another plant with plans to vacate by the end of July. Quanta has refused to comment on the rumors and will continue to focus on core business and transformational development. Share prices soared after news of the sale, with Quanta closing at NT$15.6. Micron's purchase of the plant, amidst Quanta's continual downsizing of facilities and production lines, aims to rapidly expand production capacity and optimize overall operational efficiency.
