Railroad Enthusiasts' Hopes Dashed? Taiwan Railways: EMU3000 Trains Already 'Officially Named'

Reported 12 months ago

According to FTNN News, the Taiwan Railways EMU3000 trains have been officially named 'New Tze-Chiang Express,' disappointing many railway enthusiasts who had hoped for a different name. Despite speculations of a naming event for the second half of the year, Taiwan Railways confirmed that the EMU3000 trains are already named 'New Tze-Chiang Express' with no plans for a new name. Suggestions for names like 'Black-Finch Express,' 'Mencius Express' based on its design and 'Yao-Suan-Bei-Tong Express' due to poor seat design were circulating among enthusiasts. However, the business class of the EMU3000 trains has been officially named 'Soaring Cloud Cabins,' with some passengers referring to them as 'Soaring Cloud Express' for their spacious seats and dining service. The trains are set to enhance railway capacity and efficiency upon full operation in November.
