The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan has issued a heavy rain alert due to active convective cloud formation, increasing the likelihood of short-duration heavy rainfall in Nantou County today, with chances of heavy rain in Hualien, Tainan, central Taiwan, Yilan, and western mountainous areas. Residents are advised to beware of lightning, strong gusts, landslides, and flooding. The alert covers Nantou with heavy rain alerts for Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Yilan County, and Hualien County.
