The U.S. Forest Service has ordered over 500 members of the Rainbow Family gathering in an unsanctioned camp in the Plumas National Forest to vacate within 48 hours or risk fines and jail time. The group, known as the 'largest non-organization of non-members in the world,' did not obtain the required special use permit for their event. The gatherings, characterized by meditation and communal activities, have previously faced issues with fire restrictions and ecological impact, with law enforcement enforcing a zero-tolerance policy. Officials anticipate around 10,000 attendees for this year's gathering.
