Thailand's Parliament has passed a historic amendment on June 18th, legalizing same-sex marriage set to take effect by year-end. The LGBTQ community in Thailand is ecstatic as many have fought for over a decade for this legislation. The amendment, which changes the Civil and Commercial Code, was approved by a landslide vote in the Senate. With this move, Thailand will join Taiwan and Nepal as the third Asian country to recognize same-sex marriage.
