Reported 8 months ago

FTNN News Network reported that on June 21, 2024, at 4:50 pm, Taiwan Railway EMU 3000 series new Tze-Chiang Express Train derailed between Chongde and Horen sections due to a landslide from the Daqing River overflowing onto the tracks, resulting in injuries to the driver's hand and 8 passengers. Despite the rainfall at the nearest 'Hezhong' station being only 2.5mm from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, which did not reach the alert level, a landslide still occurred. The incident was attributed to sudden overflow caused by heavy rain and not falling rocks as initially speculated.
