Today, parts of Greater Taipei and the Hualien-Taitung longitudinal valley might experience temperatures of 36 degrees or above due to the effect of southwesterly wind descents, while other areas in Taiwan will see mostly cloudy weather with some possible thunderstorms. The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert for the southern regions. Additionally, the high temperatures may lead to extreme heat for some areas, with a feel-like temperature reaching up to 42 degrees. Water company warns about the possibility of short spells of heavy rain in the southern regions, while other areas should expect sporadic thunderstorms. The weather is expected to remain similar for the next few days with fluctuations due to the southwesterly wind and precautions are advised.
